Development Dance Program

Level Descriptions:

  • Development Classes, for dancers second grade and up, are divided into five levels (1-5) with level 1-most basic and 4-most advanced. Within each level, there are ‘grades’ (A-C).
  • Your dancer should progress through each grade within a level before moving on to the next, unless otherwise directed by your instructor.
  • Example, a 2nd-4th grader at the studio would start in level 1A and then advance to 1B the following year.   Each year, the student would advance one ‘grade’ (A-C) if taking the same discipline as the previous  year.
  • If you have a question regarding class placement, email info@mooresvilledance.com. If you enroll in a class that we feel is not well suited for your dancer, we will contact you to discuss what is best for your child.
  • Students from the 22-23 dance year will be sent a suggested class chart, please refer to this FIRST for correct class placement.

Please note, teacher recommendation classes (TR) and Level 5 classes are by invitation only.  These classes are progressing at a much more intense and quicker pace, and require a higher level of committment inside and outside of the classroom.  Students must have a recommendation from instructors prior to registering. All students being considered for recommendation classes for the  2023-24 season will be notified via email prior to July 23rd.
