Dance Foundations for Musical Theatre and Musical Theatre Jazz
Dance Foundations: 6th-12th grade students will enhance their foundational performance skills through dance. This one hour and fifteen minute jazz and tap combination class will encourage those musical theater students who have strong vocals and acting, but minimal dance training and find the confidence to perform their best onstage! This class is best suited for those with minimal or no dance experience. Multiple Class discounts do not apply to Dance Foundations for MT.
- Dress Code: Black Tap shoes, tan or black jazz shoe. Ladies: black leotard, pink tights OR black leggings and black fitted plain tshirts. NO CROP TOPS OR SPORTS BRAS. Gentlemen: Black sweatpants or black shorts and white or black solid tshirt.
Theatre Jazz: ages 12+ class emphasizing correct technique in classic, modern and Broadway styles for the student dancer/actor. This class will focus on Musical Theater, especially for the actor/mover. Dancers will learn skills for across the floor and center combinations from Broadway shows challenging and advancing their body placement, fluidity, flexibility and core strength. This class will focus on stage presence and characterization while dancing. Class intended for students with some dance experience.
